Project Description
Our proposal for a new Paddle Complex suggests clarity to a generic suburban context. Designed as a light weight industrial shed referencing a seemingly forgotten industrial past, it signals a new threshold that blends with its surroundings in the day time and shimmers with energy at night. A translucent, highly performative double skin filters day light across the expansive interiors, organized on two levels. At the ground floor an open space brings together a series of paddle courts, as well as a work-out space and a coffee shop, all of which are visually connected to the exterior. Above, the rest of the courts rise quietly, activating the streetscape façade.
